This review is from: Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1) (Hardcover)
Let's consult scripture, shall we? I mean, clearly this book is written from man's wisdom, from man's fallacious understanding. The Bible says that "the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength" (1Cor. 1:25). The Bible also states, in clear opposition to Mr. Walsch, "as it is written, none is righteous, no, not one, no one understands, no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. Their throat is an open grave, they use their tongues to deceive. The venom of asps is on their lips. Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes." (Roman 3: 10-18) This is the state of all humankind save for those who call upon the precious name of Jesus, who died for those He whom He predestined before the foundation of the earth; and he was raised again to sit at the right hand of the Father and intercede for us until we reign with Him in glory! We are not okay! The answers do not come from inside of us! We are nothing without Christ! This book is complete and total heresy, and it is written for what our itching ears want to hear. We all want to hear that we are okay, and we all want people to agree with us and pat us on the back and tell us that we are not in error, but the FACT IS....we are utterly depraved to the core and it affects our hearts and our minds. We can not do any good without the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives! Mr. Walsch also states that we can forgive ourselves for our past mistakes. FORGIVE OURSELVES????? That is complete lunacy! Forgiveness only comes from God. True cleansing comes from confessing our sins and when God applies the righteousness of Christ to our account! The Bible states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1John 1:9). Also, true confession includes turning FROM something and turning TO something else. Putting ON Christ and putting OFF sin! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK. It is like a wolf in sheep's clothing. The cover looks very nice, but inside, the devil speaks through an advocate of his, Mr. Walsch.

Musings

On July 27, 2004, at the Democratic convention, then-Sen. Barack Obama declared to the country, "If there is an Arab-American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties."
HMMM. Doesn’t that argument fly in the face of the advocates of same-sex marriage who posit that it doesn’t threaten traditional marriage?

Dear Mr. Zion,

Writers in these pages recently argued pro and con to scrap the Constitution and start fresh. I don’t see why. The current one is ignored and a new one would fare no better.

One case in point, regardless of how one may feel about the law in question, is Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070 [removal of undocumented future Democrats] which was partially overturned, not by the US Supreme Court, but by a District judge.

Article III of the Constitution states:  “In all Cases affecting ... those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction.” US Code Title 28 §1251 parallels this (as it should, since an amendment is required to change it.)

Alexander Hamilton (hardly a supporter of States’ Rights) addressed this particular stipulation in Federalist 81, “in cases in which a STATE might happen to be a party, it would ill suit its dignity to be turned over to an  inferior tribunal.

Furthermore, Article IV requires the federal government to protect each state from invasion. Not only has the current administration refused to perform this specific Constitutional duty—the Attorney General (who said he has "not read" the Arizona law and formed his opinions on the basis of news reports) moved to enjoin the Sovereign State of Arizona from defending itself [de facto amnesty]!

This blatant disregard for the Constitution is most striking when we recall that at a March 30, 2007 fundraiser, Obama said, "I was a Constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution."

Which country’s Constitution was he was referring to? His acts and statements prove that he doesn’t respect ours.  He later referred to it as “An imperfect document...with deep flaws.”

The new pro-abortion and pro-Sharia Kenyan constitution he illegally spent $23 million to promote may be the one he respects.

Remarks in his State of the Union speech indicate he doesn’t even have a passing familiarity with ours: “...the promise enshrined in our Constitution: the notion that we are all created equal….”

His ignorance is “self-evident.” It’s not in our Constitution.

His Supreme Court pick doesn’t understand the foundation of our Constitution, either.

Elena Kagan stated, “I don’t have a view of what are natural rights independent of the Constitution” in her confirmation testimony discussing “unalienable rights” as articulated in the Declaration of Independence.

They both seem  ignorant of the fact that the Constitution is not the source of our rights. Our natural (unalienable) rights antedate the Constitution. They might get a little Enlightenment if they read some John Locke.

Obama’s numerous attempts at Socialization are testament to his deep resentment of our country and Constitution.

“I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." Barack Obama.

Apparently, he didn’t learn the following in Wright’s church:

“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth....” GOD.  (Deut 8:18)

And God didn’t need a Teleprompter®.

Just Wondering

If I run out of gas, I would ask a friendly passerby to bring me a can of gas.
If you drive an electric car and the battery goes dead, do you ask someone to bring you an electric cord? A very long extension cord?

The letter to the editor extolling NPR was the most risible that I can recall ever being published. They offer no substantiation to support their hypothesis.

At first, I suspected that it was the third installment of Editor Lee Zion’s joke columns or a reprint from The Onion.

The writers’ claim that “NPR is ... good, honest news and reporting” can be refuted in two words—Nina Totenberg.

Paul Krugman, the Self-Contradicting Economist

An argument that questions the credibility of economists in general is that there are a number of disagreements among many economists, and not all of them can be right at the same time. In the case of Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman, these disagreements come from Krugman himself, as he holds contradictory opinions on a large number of topics.

Predictions of 2008 came true

Predictions of 2008 came true
If only Obama would break more promises
IN presidential campaigns, candidates often warn the voters that if they vote for the other guy, something bad will
happen.
But a strange transformation takes place on Inauguration Day. The presidential candidate becomes the president and
finds he must do exactly what he warned the public the other guy was going to do.
In other words, his opponent was right.
And his opponent's supporters love to remind the public of what happened with a little construction that ends with
"and they were right."
The first time I heard it was from supporters of Barry Goldwater, who lost in 1964 to Lyndon Johnson.
Goldwater supporters said they were told by the other side that if they voted for him, there would be 500,000 U.S.
troops in Saigon. Well, they voted for Goldwater - and the forecasters were right.
It happened on Lyndon Baines Johnson's watch.
And so it goes today as I watch President Obama go down the path of John McCain on many issues.
My favorites:
They told me that if I voted for McCain, enemy combatants would remain at Guantanamo Bay indefinitely. Well, I
voted for McCain and they were right.
They told me that if I voted for McCain, there would be nearly 100,000 troops stationed in Iraq indefinitely. Well, I
voted for McCain and they were right.
They told me that if I voted for McCain, the Bush tax cuts would continue. Well, I voted for McCain and they were
right.
They told me that if I voted for McCain, we would get a president who was in bed with big oil. Well, I voted for
McCain and they were right.
(Obama was the No. 1 recipient of campaign money from BP employees in the last 20 years.)
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would get a president who was in bed with Wall Street. Well, I voted for
McCain and they were right.

(Obama received nearly $1 million from employees of Goldman Sachs.)
They told me that if I voted for McCain, we would have an attorney general who wanted to curtail civil rights. Well, I
voted for McCain and they were right.
(Attorney General Eric Holder said Congress should "give serious consideration" to changing Miranda rights to give
police "necessary flexibility" in dealing with terrorists.)
They told me that if I voted for McCain, Halliburton would continue to get big no-bid contracts from the military.
Well, I voted for McCain and they were right.
(Actually the Obama administration's no-bid contract went to KBR, which is the former Halliburton subsidiary that
obtained no-bid defense contracts under Presidents Clinton and Bush.)
I realize that presidents are never quite the same man that the presidential candidate was.
This is good. Running for the Oval Office is 180 degrees different from running the Oval Office.
I fully expected Obama to break campaign promises, and I hoped he would break them all.
We cannot afford a nuclear-free world or health-care insurance reform or this continuing string of bailouts of failures.
It is not that Obama has broken so many promises. He has not broken enough.
His pursuit of cap-and-trade taxes at a time when the economy is in the toilet is ridiculous.
What makes it ludicrous is that it comes at a time when the public is finally learning of the many, many lies in the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
In short, we are going to upend the nation's economy based on lies about the weather.
But there is one broken Obama promise I really wish he would reconsider. He promised to be post-partisan.
He has been mostly partisan.
That is a mistake he will regret. And it is the one mistake he still has time to correct.
Of all I was warned about in voting for McCain, predictions of bitter partisanship were not on the list.

POST COMMENT
I understand that Obama is a politician, but i also believe he has the county's be interest at heart which is more than i felt from McCain. Iraq was a mess Obama
inherited I for one did not expect that to come to some miraculous happy ending in a year. I don't see how we can afford to live a nuclear ridden world. when
countries star throwing nukes we are all going down, we need to start thinking global we are too many to keep thinking our patch earth is unaffected by each
countries abuse. And if the writter wants to point out how presidential candidates are changed men after election I personally did not wish to see the changes
and promises McCain would have broken and not lived up to. Instead of health care we would be paying to bomb all of the middle east killing as war lords love
to do. i would rather spend the money on healing. It's hard to lead people to change when they kicking and screaming the whole way.

Make no mistake, as a liberal, I am disappointed in President Obama. He acts more like a Republican (an intelligent Republican) instead of supporting the
ideals that many of us were hoping for...as in real change for our country. What we have here is George W. Light. As 007 James Bond has said, "Government
change, but the lie remains the same."
