If a cow is bovine
and a dog is canine.
A cat is feline and
a bear is ursine.
A horse is equine
as a fox is vulpine and
the sheep is ovine.
Don't forget the eagle is aquiline
and the snake is elapine. Or
serpentine if you prefer.
The lion is leonine and the
rabbit is  leporine.
The rodent is murine (keep that out
of your eye).
The peacock (and mayhaps the peahen)
is pavonine.
Now the pig is porcine and
the thrush is turdine (how unfortunate).
But don't combine that with the bull which is taurine.
Repeat after me, the parrot is
psittacine. Don't say it too fast.

Now with all that richness of language, the Republicans
chose the elephant as their mascot.
Loxodontine if you want to be fancy.
But keep it simple.

Elephantine.
Majestic. Large. Strong. Steadfast. Faithful.

What did the Democrats choose?
Donkey.

Asinine.
